Prince Edward island, New Zealands and whoel black mussels
|
PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND- Canada
These Canadian mussels are farmed in nutrient-rich seawater and have a sweeter taste, are more tender/plumper, are free of grit and have a higher meat yield than their wild counterpart. Mussel farming is, by definition, green and sustainable. Farmed mussels help to reduce greenhouse gases by removing carbon dioxide from the ocean for shell formation.

BLUE HILL BAY MUSSELS- Maine
Blue Hill Bay mussels are Maine rope grown mussels which are farmed out of one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems on the planet. Maine rope-grown mussels are exceptionally high yielding, and possess a terrifically pleasant level of brininess. The Blue Hill Bay mussels are somewhat of a premium grade, “boutique” item.

MEDITERRANEAN MUSSELS- west coast
Mediterranean mussels are beloved in Europe (especially Belgium and France) for their sweet flavor and juicy, tender flesh. These mussels are shipped live and fresh with their beards still attached.

HOLLADER and DELONING- Maine rope grown
Start-up Acadia Aqua Farms of Bar Harbor, Maine. Acadia harvests bottom-culture as opposed to raft-culture mussels and processed on the boat, allowing for a fresher product. Mussels on the sea bed tend to have more flavor and a slightly stronger shell.
